Lingard
It seems more and more likely that this is going to happen. Jesse's keen to come and the clubs are haggling over the loan fee, reportedly. There's also a claim that if we get him we'll no longer pursue a new striker.

This baffles me. Who does he replace in our 1st XI? And more importantly, who plays up front if Antonio twangs his hamstring again?

Is Mipo some kind of wunderkind that we'll unleash if he does?

I'm not getting the logic to this one.

Re: Lingard
I reckon he will use Yarmolenko as the back up striker instead of using him as a winger.
Lingard can play in a number of positions, 6 month loan with a point to prove and an eye on an England place at the euros could be a masterstroke.

Re: Lingard
I reckon Lingard would be a good signing but we should also try for the Dog Eater as backup striker. That would be good enough for me in a January Window

Re: Lingard
I must admit to being against this but I now trust Moyes to get the best out him. I was also against Dawson but what a success that is turning out to be.

Re: Lingard
Done deal. Expect an announcement soon. The normal loan with an option bollocks. Ironically, he won't be able to play in the FA cup tie, but maybe he's cup-tied?

Benny's loan option has been exercised so love him or hate him he's now ours. I love him, personally.

A new striker is possible but no longer a priority.

I'm not ITK but the above comes from a very good source.

Exactamundo with 4Nails, Bowen and/or Lingard, and Lanzini playing off of him. Soucek is our goal machine

Re: Lingard
Moyes has turned Arnautovic and Antonio into decent strikers

Coukd he be thinking he could do the same with Lingard?

Mace66 9:11 Thu Jan 28
Re: Lingard
He tends to go for a unit up front, Arnautovic, Antonio, Lukaku, Yakubu ... all big strong lumps

Lingard doesn’t fit that mould

It’s an interesting one for sure but you have to trust the Moyesiah on what he’s done so far

Alfs

There will be an agreement that he won’t be able to play against Man U.

Re: Lingard
I cant see how he fits in the team

But then again I was baffled by the dawson deal, so what the fuck do I know

Re: Lingard
You can’t play against your team as a loan anyway..

It doesn’t matter, atleast it means some players can rest/rotate around the cup game

Re: Lingard
I like forward to being proven wrong, as in the 15 odd games I've ever seen him play on TV, I've been amazed that he plays for a premiership team.

He’s fucking toilet.

Re: Lingard
He can offer decent cover for Bowen, Fornals, Benrahma and maybe even Antonio. He has scored in his last three cup finals, so has d s one degree of composure in front of goal in big matches.

I imagine his prime job will be filling in for Bowen instead of Yarmolenko doing so, as he would work harder tracking back; Yarmolenko more likely to cover centre forward.

At worst, he’s a good utility player. Snodgrass’s replacement.

Re: Lingard
Makes me laugh when people say he can offer cover, of course he can offer cover, the question is is he any good or not. If not I'll get me boots out and 'offer cover''
